DirectX latest needed for Games

This question often comes to mind that what is directX, Whats its relation with games is it really necessary for games or not.

The answer is simply YES its needed for games to run its most complicated file and dll files.You cannot play most advanced games with out directX.It is like the electricity for games to run.It is defined by wiki as





"Microsoft DirectX is a collection of application programming interfaces (APIs) for handling tasks related to multimedia, especially game programming and video, on Microsoft platforms. DirectX is widely used for the development of games by Microsoft.
Direct X 11.1 is the latest released, it was released on august 1st, 2012.

So if you have given an error by a game then go for directx which will surely resolve your issue.Direct X 1 was released on September 30, 1995.Windows Xp does not supports dx10 and 11.
